Anandakuttan has tried his hand at numerous jobs to eke out a living, finally landing up in the tinsel world. Today he is a junior cine artist doing bit roles in small-time movies. He also supplies junior artists to the sets. But he can hardly make ends meet. Nimmy is another junior artist and colleague of Anandakuttan. They live dreaming of eventually becoming stars in their own right. It is at this juncture that Aakash Menon, his five-year younger sibling whom he has never seen comes into his life, kindling hope in Ananadakuttan's bleak existence. What follows is the often hilarious and often touching relationship between the two siblings.

Foodah..Fooodah..FOODAHHHH! These lines said by Dileep will make you laugh.

After Kunjikoonan, Dileep does a double role again in Pachakuthira, playing the parts of Anandakuttan and Aakash Menon. Gopika does the role of Nimmy providing the romantic angle. Kamal directs the Babu Shahir production, which has screenplay by TA Shahid, lyrics by Girish Puthencherry and music by Ilayaraja. Camerawork is by P Sukumar. The film has several cinema-in cinema sequences where real life behind-the-scenes film personalities including Director Viji Thambi, play their own real life roles. Pachakuthira is slated for release during the Vishu - Easter season.

Ilayaraja's music is a disappointment for this movie, and Gopika doesnt have much of a role. Kind of a Kamal-downer but not bad at all!It did perform better than Thuruppu Gulan at the box office, but none too well. I think Dileep should deserve an award for playing this role so well

Minus Points: Ilayaraja's music
